1. Who we are
MyHomeMyHero is an AI-powered home maintenance manager owned and operated by VeritasLogic LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company. References to "we," "us," or "our" refer to VeritasLogic LLC. References to "you" or "your" refer to anyone using our website at myhomemyhero.com or our app.
This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your data.
2. Eligibility
MyHomeMyHero is intended for homeowners and renters who are 18 years of age or older, and who reside in the United States. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has signed up, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete the account.
3. What we collect
Account information
When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text), and zip code. You can optionally add your street address later in Settings if you want more personalized advice — this is never required.
Home information
As you use the app, you provide information about your home: appliances, systems, and structures you own (your "Binder"), their installation dates, model and serial numbers, warranty expirations, custom maintenance notes, and any documents you upload to your Vault (manuals, receipts, warranties, etc.).
Chat and task data
Conversations you have with our AI manager, tasks you create or complete, and the proactive assessments our AI generates for you are all stored in your account.
Payment information
If you upgrade to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see, store, or have access to your full credit card number. Stripe shares with us only your subscription status, the last 4 digits of your card (for display), your billing email, and an internal customer ID.
Technical and usage data
We automatically collect basic technical information when you use the service: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, the pages you visit, and timestamps of your activity. We use this for security, diagnosing bugs, and understanding how the product is used so we can improve it.
Communications
If you email us, fill out our contact form, or send a support request, we keep a record of that correspondence so we can respond and follow up.
4. How we use your data
We use the data described above for the following purposes:
- To provide the service. Your home information, chat messages, and task data are used to generate maintenance plans, run our proactive AI engine, suggest contractors, and answer your questions.
- To process payments. Account and payment data are used to manage your subscription via Stripe.
- To send you transactional emails. Account confirmations, password resets, billing receipts, and important service notifications.
- To send you our newsletter. When you sign up, we may include you in our weekly product newsletter, which contains updates on tasks, features, and home maintenance tips. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email — we will honor unsubscribe requests within 10 business days as required by US law.
- To improve the product. We may review aggregated usage patterns and (in limited cases described below) individual data to fix bugs, improve our AI prompts, and make the service better. We do not use your personal home data to train AI models for other purposes or other companies.
- To keep the service safe. We use technical data to detect abuse, fraud, and security issues.
- To comply with the law. If we are required to disclose data by a valid legal request (subpoena, court order, etc.), we will comply, but we will notify you when legally permitted to do so.
5. Who we share your data with
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate MyHomeMyHero. Each one receives only the data needed to perform its function. None of them sell your data, and we have a contractual relationship with each.
- Supabase — hosts our database and stores your account, Binder, tasks, and Vault documents. Data is stored on servers in the United States.
- OpenAI — processes your chat messages and home data to generate AI responses. Per OpenAI's API policy, your data is retained for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring and is then deleted. OpenAI does not use your API submissions to train its models.
- Stripe — processes all payments. Stripe sees your card details; we do not.
- Resend — sends our transactional and newsletter emails on our behalf.
- Vercel — hosts our website and serves it to your browser.
- Cloudflare — manages our domain DNS and email routing.
- Google (Maps Platform) — when you use the "Find a Pro" feature, we send a search query (e.g., "plumber near 90210") to Google to retrieve top-rated local contractors. We do not send Google your personal information beyond your zip code.
- Open-Meteo — provides weather forecasts based on your zip code.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone. We do not share your personal data with advertisers or marketing companies. We do not allow third parties to use our service to track you across the web.
6. How AI is used
MyHomeMyHero is an AI-driven product. Here is exactly what AI processes and what it does not:
- What goes to OpenAI: Your chat messages, the contents of your Binder (item names, manufacturers, models, install dates, warranty dates, custom notes), your task list, your home profile (zip code, year built, square footage, heating type, etc.), and your maintenance preferences. Additionally, if you explicitly use our Photo Identification (Vision AI) feature to identify an appliance, those specific photos are temporarily sent to OpenAI to be analyzed.
- What does NOT go to OpenAI: Your password (we never see it ourselves), your payment information, your general Vault documents (standard PDFs, manuals, and receipts stay in our storage and are not transmitted to AI services), your email address, and your street address.
- Retention at OpenAI: OpenAI keeps API submissions for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring purposes only, then deletes them. Per OpenAI's API policy, your data is not used to train OpenAI's models.
- You cannot opt out of AI processing while using MyHomeMyHero, because AI is the core of the service. If you do not want your home data processed by AI, please do not use MyHomeMyHero.
7. Cookies and tracking
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to operate the service:
- Authentication cookies set by Supabase keep you logged in. These are required for the service to work.
- Functional cookies remember your preferences (e.g., your selected billing cycle on the pricing page).
We do not currently use any third-party analytics, advertising, or behavioral-tracking cookies. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, but since we don't engage in cross-site tracking, this does not affect your privacy.
8. Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect your data, including:
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit between your browser and our servers.
- Database encryption at rest, managed by Supabase.
- Salted password hashing — we never store passwords in plain text.
- Role-based access controls so only authorized personnel can access user data.
- Two-factor authentication on our administrative accounts.
No system is perfectly secure. If we ever discover a data breach affecting your account, we will notify you within 72 hours of becoming aware of it.
9. Our access to your data
To maintain the privacy and security of your data, authorized personnel at VeritasLogic LLC only have technical access to user data for the purposes of:
- Diagnosing and fixing bugs you report.
- Responding to support requests when you ask for help.
- Investigating suspected abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Service.
- Maintaining and improving the service.
We do not browse user accounts for any other reason, and we never share what we see with anyone outside MyHomeMyHero.
10. Your rights
You have the following rights over your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction: Update or correct any inaccurate information. Most data can be corrected directly in your account settings.
- Deletion: Request that we delete your account and all associated data. We will honor verified deletion requests within 30 days. Some data may be retained for up to 12 months to comply with legal obligations (e.g., tax records related to your subscription).
- Portability: Request a machine-readable export of your account data.
- Marketing opt-out: Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in any newsletter email.

California residents:Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have additional rights, including the right to know what personal information we collect about you and the right to opt out of any "sale" of your personal information. We do not sell personal information, so the opt-out right does not apply, but you can exercise the other rights above by contacting us.
11. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except for:
- Records we are legally required to keep (e.g., financial records, typically 7 years).
- Anonymized aggregated data that can no longer be linked to you.
- Backup copies that are rotated out of our backup systems within 90 days.
We do not currently auto-delete inactive accounts. If you stop using MyHomeMyHero and want your data removed, please contact us.
12. International users
MyHomeMyHero is operated from the United States and currently serves only US-based users. If you are accessing the service from outside the United States, please be aware that your data will be transferred to and processed in the US, which has different privacy laws than your country.
13. Children's privacy
MyHomeMyHero is not intended for and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you become aware that a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and post the updated policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of MyHomeMyHero after the effective date of the updated policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
